I have savings or support to cover at least one month of essential expenses.

My payslip shows UIF deductions, and I know my employer must give me a UI-19 form when I leave.
I know that retrenchment requires consultation and that severance pay is usually at least one week's pay per completed year of service.
I know that a dismissal dispute usually has to be referred to the CCMA or bargaining council within a short time limit.
