Grab Bag Checklist

A checklist for a small bag you could take quickly if you had to leave home in a hurry, for example because of abuse, fire or eviction.

What you will need

Will children or dependants leave with you? (yes_no): Adds their items to the list.
Where the bag can be kept safely (text): If someone at home may find it, keep it with a trusted friend, neighbour or at work.
More detail: tick items as you pack them (checklist): ID or copy; children's birth certificates or clinic cards; protection order copy and case numbers; bank card and some cash; phone, charger and a spare old phone if possible; spare house and car keys; medicines, scripts and clinic card; a change of clothes for a few days; school items and a comfort toy for children; important phone numbers on paper; sanitary items and toiletries; SASSA card if you have one.

How it works

Show core list (ID, cash, phone and charger, medicines, keys, numbers on paper) first, then extra list. If leaving_with_children = yes, add children's documents, clinic cards, school items, comfort item. Progress shown as 'x of y packed' (no rewards language). If any answer mentions abuse, show GBV Command Centre 0800 428 428 and SAPS 10111, and remind: never let the bag be found if that could put you in danger.
