  1. I have a valid, signed will that reflects my current wishes.

  2. Someone I trust knows where my original will is kept.

  3. I have reviewed my will since my last big life change (marriage, divorce, a child, buying property).

  4. If I have children under 18, I have named a guardian in my will.

  5. I have thought about whether a trust is needed for young or vulnerable beneficiaries.

  6. My beneficiary nominations on life cover and retirement funds are up to date.

  7. My family could find a list of my bank accounts, policies, debts and property.

  8. There would be enough cash or cover to pay funeral costs and estate costs without selling the family home.

  9. My family knows my wishes about funeral, burial or cremation, and any cultural or religious customs.

  10. I understand that a power of attorney stops working if I lose mental capacity, and I have discussed what should happen then.
