Caregiver Weekly Planner

Lays out each day's care tasks, appointments and medicines, shows who is doing what, and checks that the main carer has real rest time in the week.

What you will need

  • Roughly how many hours of care are needed each week? (hours): Include personal care, meals, medicines, supervision, transport and appointments.
  • Who can help, and how many hours each? (list: name + hours): Include family, neighbours, paid carers and day-care.
  • Hours of protected rest for the main carer each week (hours): Time with no caring duties at all, not time spent at work.
  • Daily and weekly tasks (More detail) (list: task, day, time, person): For example: morning medicines, bath, clinic visit, collecting chronic medication.
  • Medicines and times (More detail) (list): Shown as a daily medicine chart. Always follow the doctor or pharmacist's instructions.

How it works

helper_hours = sum(h.hours for h in helpers) main_carer_hours = max(0, care_hours_per_week - helper_hours) main_carer_share_pct = main_carer_hours / care_hours_per_week * 100 (if care_hours_per_week > 0) Build a 7-day grid from tasks and medicines; highlight days with no named person for any task. flags: - if main_carer_share_pct >= 75: 'Main carer carrying most of the load' - if main_carer_rest_hours < 4: 'No real rest in the week' - if any day has unassigned tasks: 'Gaps on <days>' Suggest: add at least one rest block of 4 hours or more per week; ask helpers to take specific named tasks rather than 'help when needed'.

What you get

  • Your week at a glance
  • Share of care done by the main carer
  • Days and tasks with no one assigned

What it means

  • Care is shared and the main carer has rest built in.
  • One person is carrying most of the care; share at least one regular task this week.
  • There is no real rest in this week; plan a break before exhaustion builds.
